Climate-Resilient Agriculture: Adapting to Change

Climate change poses significant challenges to agriculture in Rwanda. Our climate-resilient agriculture program helps farmers adapt to changing weather patterns while building sustainable farming practices.
Program Components
The program focuses on several key areas to help farmers become more resilient to climate change:
- Drought-resistant crop varieties
- Water conservation techniques
- Soil health improvement
- Agroforestry practices
- Weather monitoring systems
- Alternative income sources
Implementation Strategy
We work directly with farming communities to implement climate-resilient practices. This includes providing training, seeds, tools, and ongoing support to ensure successful adoption.
Measurable Impact
The program has reached over 1,000 farming families across Rwanda, with impressive results:
- 1,000+ farming families supported
- 40% increase in crop yields
- 60% reduction in water usage
- 95% of participants report improved food security
- 200+ hectares of land under sustainable management
Success Story
François Nkurunziza, a farmer from the Eastern Province, has transformed his farm using climate-resilient techniques. Despite severe drought conditions, his farm continues to produce healthy crops while conserving water and improving soil health.
This program represents our commitment to environmental sustainability and food security, ensuring that communities can thrive despite climate challenges.
